Dan Headlee has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and is a licensed insurance agent with a CIC designation. In 2014, Dan purchased a local insurance agency, Loring & Company, a household name with roots dating back to the 1800s led by Dan Loring. Mr. Headlee was honored to care for Mr. Loring’s valued customers and continue the superb service Loring’s customers were accustomed to.

Since taking the lead as president, Dan is making his vision a reality in growing the agency into multiple states and expanding into various markets to offer exceptional customer service and top-notch products throughout the country. While the agency continues to grow with more locations being added steadily, Mr. Headlee’s vision of creating a legacy of a service-oriented, hands-on, boots-on-the-ground run agency remains the number one priority, and that is reflected in the Universal Group’s core values.

With over 27 years in the insurance industry, Dan has achieved multiple prestigious awards throughout his career, including a spot in the President’s Club three times with Zurich. Throughout Dan’s impressive professional journey within the insurance industry, he has gained the knowledge and experience in various roles and diverse agencies that have groomed him to successfully oversee a number of agencies within the Universal Group brand across multiple states.

As co-author of Universal Group’s core values, upholding each component is weaved into Dan’s daily actions. With a thirst for learning and a desire to mirror positive influences in his life, including his most inspiring mentor, his beloved father, Mike Headlee, Dan strives to serve others and builds a culture around service. Honoring one’s word is crucial in the insurance industry as you are “selling a piece of paper and your word.” According to Dan, you only get one chance to show people who you are.

Dan is married to his best friend, Jess, and has five children, ages 17-24, a grandson, two dogs, and two cats. Dan and Jess love to experience life to the fullest and thrive on trying new things. Their newest adventure includes experiencing  country living, renovating an old farmhouse, and gearing up to fill barns and land with Jess’s dream; farm animals.

Dan makes it a priority every morning to read his Bible. Other favorite reading material includes content from John Maxwell and Joel Osteen. Staying active and in tip-top health is non-negotiable for Dan, who makes hitting the gym daily and a weekly golf game part of his routine.
